We are committed to making a difference in the fight against cancer, and we strive to join with others to help promote our efforts throughout Louisiana.
Our foundation is a founding member of CAGLA (Cancer Advocacy Group of Louisiana) which advocates for policies focusing on cancer patient's health insurance coverage needs and accessible screenings for all. To date, CAGLA has passed, through Louisiana Legislation, 11 new bills supporting cancer patients and now paying for procedures and treatments previously not covered by our state's health care insurance. Funding for The Precision Medicine Department at Ochsner Health Systems is led by doctor Mark Matrana.
It is our pleasure to partner with the St. Tammany/Ochsner healthcare system in many ways, including their Be Well Bus– which provides free cancer screenings.
They are a main sponsor for our Mauti Tennis Classic, and we regularly donate funds towards precision medicine and cancer research within their facilities.
Each year, our foundation donates funds to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Specifically, we have established an endowment with them to fund free cancer screenings. We also provide gift cards for gas to help patients get to their cancer treatments.
We are excited to announce our new partnership with SunStop! Our assistance provides sunscreen kiosks throughout our community– making sunscreen available at local events, health clubs, recreation fields, parks, and various well-attended activities!
